Party Night For The Archie Foundation

With Live Music From Scott Mckenzie

18 September 2017

September is Child Cancer Awareness Month and we thought what better way to support this by having a party and raising some cash for a worthy local charity!

The thinking caps went on and after much deliberation we decided that we would raise money for the Archie Foundation. One of the local lads has had a lot of support from this charity and we love supporting our locals.

About the Archie Foundation

They buy specialist equipment, support families, create amazing hospital environments, enhance staff training, buy toys, fund research, provide specialist staff and respond in emergencies. Their donors, volunteers and supporters make this possible and the foundation are hugely grateful to every single one of them.

The Archie Foundation exist to make a big difference for local children when they are sick, in hospital or in need of long-term healthcare. They also take skills learned in Scotland to develop children's surgical programmes in East Africa through their ARCHIE Global Surgery Programme. You can find out more about all of this here on their website.

So as you can see this was definitely the Charity we wanted to support... then it was a question of entertainment?

We had been approached by a local singer who has experience playing all over the city & shire and wanted to come and play for us, so we jumped at the opportunity to have him support our evening and aren't we glad we did! Scott Mckenzie is fantastic!

About Scott Mckenzie

Scott - dubbed the one stop music man is a Versatile Vocalist, playing an eclectic set. Ranging from the 60's to current chart music. Giving a little something for everyone during his performance. He certainly gave his all on Saturday and the crowd definitely enjoyed having him, he was interactive - getting the crowd on their feet playing tambourines even adding a few backing singers to his set!

Scott Mckenzie is very talented, versatile he is indeed! Playing music from Stereophonic, Creedance Clearwater, The Beatles, Rag and bone man, Duran Duran, Deacon Blue and Jonny Cash to name a few.

One party goer has even booked him for her 60th birthday bash in 2 years! You can find out more about Scott and what hes up to by following his facebook page

The evening was fab event where we raised about £400, final total pending, all going towards the Archie Foundation. Thank you to all who donated and took part on the night.
