Following on from our previous blog post 18 Reasons To Golf In Aberdeen In 2016 we’ve compiled a list of our area’s best nine short holes. Do you agree?
1) 8th Hole Royal Aberdeen
On last count a total of 10 pot bunkers guarded the 8th green at Royal Aberdeen, the only south facing hole on the entire front 9.
2) 3rd Hole Trump International Golf Links
Offering stunning views of the beach the signature 3rd is arguably the most jaw-dropping on property.
3) 5th Hole Murcar Golf Links
As the impressive city skyline looms in the distance you don't want to miss left.
4) 4th Hole Cruden Bay Golf Club
Measuring 197 yards from the member tees the picturesque 4th at Cruden Bay provides panoramic views of the town, Slains Castle and the first glimpse of the sandy white beach.
5) 15th Hole Cruden Bay Golf Club
Perched overhanging the beach and played completely blind golfers are guided by a marker pole short of the green.
6) 7th Hole Fraserburgh Golf Club
The downhill design of the signature 7th hole is surrounded by devilish pot bunkers with a tricky raised back to front green.
7) 16th Hole Newburgh Golf Club
‘Short’ plays alongside the Ythan Estuary to a semi blind green guarded by bunkers and out of bound to the left.
8) 17th Hole Fraserburgh Golf Club
In the depths of the rugged sand dunes the penultimate hole at Fraserburgh requires you to avoid a huge pot bunker short right and waist high rough surrounding the green in the hope of making par.
9) 16th Hole Peterhead Golf Club
In keeping with the last few holes at Peterhead the downhill 16th sits among large sand dunes making it imperative that you find the green.
