Well we had another night with our favourites - great food, Brewdog beer and of course our customers. Our second Brewdog dinner this year and this one had more of a Halloween feel.
We started off with the starter of Pumpkin Soup, which paired nicely with the Brewdog Pumpkin King at 5.4% Abv this pumpkin ale was light zesty and also had some sweeter notes through it like toffee.
The main course was a beautiful Lamb Shank, which fell off the bone on to the fork, served with a wholegrain mash and glazed carrots. Brewdog paired this with Born to Die an imperial india pale ale at 8.5% Abv. It is their limited IPA and due to it freshness you get all the good citrus taste from the dry hops used to make it.
We then move on to dessert Apricot Bread and Butter Pudding with an orange crème anglaise. A great twist on the classic and my did it go down well. Off course it was paired with brewdog Cocoa Psycho at 10% Abv. This Imperial Stout lives up to its name with the immediate hit of chocolate and bitter sweet taste. Interestingly enough we got let into a little secret that if we poured a touch on to our apricot bread and butter pudding (or whatever dessert you chose to have this beer with) we might just be in for a taste sensation. The verdict you told us was it was a match made in heaven.
So from this night we learnt a lot. Not only that you can pair great beers with great food just as well as food and wine matching. Also that you can pour a little beer on to your food and it takes it to another level, bet we couldn't do that with wine!
To finish the night off we had a wee raffle with some brilliant Brewdog prizes among them was a Brewdog Hoodie RRP £40, a Jackhammer gift set with 2 bottles of the beer and a Brew dog glass, from the red-rock of Colorado The Crowler a 920ml can that can be filled with any of your brewdog on tap choice of beer and taken home to enjoy and a can of Black Eye King Imperial at 12.7% Abv.
A great night had by all and if you don't believe us then take a look at some of the comments from our customers.
